in the extinct
the flag-banner is passed
to those that survive
you go up to the common ancestor
of all
and
the common ancestor is ancestor
of non-extinct and extinct, both
then go down again the line of descent
to the surviving non-extinct.
And these are those that carry in them
Not only their genes
but the genes of that that's extinct.
