Fish Lake Poem by Kim Barney

I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

Fish Lake

Today I went and fished the lake.
I fished for perch and trout and splake.
You want to know if I had luck?
Well, yes, some luck I had.
In fact, I had a lot of it,
And all of it was bad!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM

Fish Lake actually contains the three types of fish mentioned in the poem, among others.

The current picture IS of Fish Lake. When I first posted this poem back in April, I used a different picture. The other day I went back to the lake with some family members (and this time, fishing from a boat instead of from the shore, I had much better luck) and took this picture from the boat. One side of the lake is steep with pine trees (and that's the side of the lake that has the most fish) .
