Firelight Poem by Brad Adams

Firelight

Flames of the fire
pop
Flicker in your eyes
Frozen in the heat
Burning in my mind
crackle
Rapid conversation
Darts from your mouth
Sparkles in the air
snap
Slow motion moment
Your moving lips talk with me
Other voices, faces fade into the twilight
fizzle
Superlative thoughts
Flame in your words
Flash on your face
crackle
Delicate hands wave your point
Graceful stance
Hugged by a sweater
pop
Vaporous you, like a wisp of smoke
You burn my eyes
Then disappear and my vision is cleared
hiss
Yet your glow makes me stare
snap
I'm drawn to the fire that is you
