Fireflies Poem by The Writer Way

Fireflies

I look down and see fireflies dancing around my hand
I sit trying to understand if their whole plan is just... to dance
"Constantly interacting without any touching is the plan?
Which one of them decided that? This friendshipzone is too advanced."
Then it dawns me like the sun does... Maybe that's the secret..
What greater version of love is there than two beings comfortable being?
Dining and intertwining on energy they're secreting
Storing it in their memories, locking it away for safekeeping?
The stars, they do the same thing, two bodies moving as one
Breathing beats like beating drums, coming together, being undone,
Choreographed around the Sun with the freeness that chained minds shun
Moving effortlessly, seemingly denying that they're spun
But they are... just like these fireflies... around my hand, physically
In memory... But... Every now and then they come to visit me
I know those fireflies always dancing together will be true
I know it is, it has to be... I own those memories with you.
