Finger Tips Poem by kelly hickey

Finger Tips

A mile is in the inch between our fingertips
The distance so great
I can see you lips move
But not hear what you say
We are standing side by side
A world apart
Wishing upon a star
Dreaming on a cloud
Hoping with all my heart
Shut up
There was never any point
When I am with you
I am alone
When I am alone
I am with you
Closing my eyes I see you
Opening them you are gone
Just beyond the tips of my fingertips
I know that's where you belong
