Finding You Pt. One: Jumping On The Trampoline Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Finding You Pt. One: Jumping On The Trampoline

Rating: 4.0

Jumping on the trampoline
High in the pale yellow sky singing
I'm the only girl in the world
my sun dress in wintertime floats in the breeze
The sun calming down
No longer high
But still magnificent
I undress my mind, thoughts drifting to the floor of the moon
Walking up and down dirt roads
Elvis telling me suspicion keeps us apart
It's a moonlight waltz in the wilderness
Swaying in the lonely street to my pretty beat
I'm writing poetry like the life I lead is a thrill
Cause it is, I'm a thrill.
It's a beautiful nightmare in its images
Desires, unwinding fantasies in the days to come
In reality it's just another day,
But I don't live there in the disappointment of everyone and their realities
It's hard to imagine to aspire to such low heights
Meet me up here in dreams and scary shades of darkness
I drown with the idea you'll never see me
Never mind hear me
Will the happily sad and lonely ever find satisfaction
I dare hope not
I'm wishing on coffee and chocolates that I find you
Jumping on the trampoline in the backyard next door
Whistling a new song
There must be more than this,
I know it'll never be enough
