Financing The Collective Nouns Poem by Marcel Aouizerate

Financing The Collective Nouns

Wait! Do you still claim
One bird in your hand is
Worth two in a bush?

But then, are two birds in the bush
Worth four on a wire,
And so on until we get to
A charm of finches in the hard blue sky
Or should we believe in danger
And it's rather a tower of falcons?

Did you shout from the peer towards
The thesean of black sails getting back
To shore on a disquiet sea?
I heard you shared and sold
Cervantès' binary arithmetic,
As your lot acts no different than
A regiment of hypocrites and usurers.

No one can repay his debts on an empty net,
Nor from a bloom of jellyfish, that much you knew
But you came a long way and it is only fair
You would get a host of men and
A faith of merchants fighting over
A hoard of gold.
