Filth Poem by Bunny Baker

Filth

Rip up the houses
Rip them all down
Replace them with factories
Replace them with towns
Mow down the woods
Mow them all through
Put them in paper
Of white and of blue

Kill all the animals
Kill them in cold blood
Leave them to fester
In the dirt and the mud
Poison all the plants
Poison them well
Leave them to die
And continue to sell

Use all the water
Use it all up
Make it so dirty
Then clean it all up
Infect every being
With fumes and with muck
Some people are weak
But you know your luck

Taint all the minds
Taint them all true
Put in their places
A violent adieu
Make us insane
Make us all mad
Treat us like victims
Although we are bad

Leave all the homeless
Leave them to freeze
Give them a copper
For yourself to please
Throw down that litter
There on the ground
See someone dying
But don’t make a sound

Tear down the buildings
Tear them all down
Regress to before
The factory and town
Clean up the water
Clean it all up
Make it worth living
Make it all up

Hack up the ozone
Rip it to shreds
See the sun shine
While we burn in our beds
Look at the smoke
Look at that smog
Put on your suit
And rewind the Cog

I like this, it has vague similarities to Audens 'Stop all the clocks', a good rythym to it too. HG: -) xx
