Fighting Als Poem by Ray Hansell

Fighting Als

I have a very close friend
Who's sister is very sick
She's fighting a disease
That's spreading amazingly quick

It causes my heart great pain
To see my friend in tears
The look on her face tells me
That she's comsumed with fear

Not only is this her sister
It's also her best friend
All she feels is sadness
As her sisnters life nears it's end

So many times I'm speechless
Not knowing what to say
I do not have the words
To chase her sadness away

Her sisters pain is overwhelming
All she can do is cry
She's crying for her sister
Who she knows will soon die

How she got this disease
No doctor can really say
I guess the best that we can do
Is hit our knees and pray

Pray, that the end will be painless
As the angels take her home
In your heart always knowing
Your bond as sisters was strong as stone
