Fight Or Flight Poem by Bill Hallsworthy

Fight Or Flight

Fractured images fill the light,
facts said slowly opens my eyes,
the brightness closes in,
and forgiveness fades into black and white.
fight or flight beckons,
with seconds to decide,
the day of reckoning has arrived,
do I play or die?
the moment freezes in my mind,
torment pleases me,
so I hide in my lies,
nothing will erase memories placed in time,
so I let time waste slowly by,
and pretend the memory wasn't better than real life.
