Few Stand Time's Test Poem by Jonathan ROBIN

Few Stand Time's Test

May one observe how rarely kindred minds -
Once, maybe twice a lifetime, often never -
Relate with spontaneity which finds
Great expectations met. No vain endeavour
As many fail, excitement soon unwinds.
New friendships form, few stand Time's test, however.
New shine soon tarnished when men draw the blinds
Empathy eroding as links sever.
High hopes I entertain you'll read behind
One sonnet's smile awhile, no wile, guile clever,
Change 'chance' encounter into intertwined
'Happy' future free from tears forever.
ARTless artist opens invitation,
Makes One Request: GAinsay Needless NEgation
