Fear Poem by Verusha Govender

Fear

Every time I hear your name I tremble;
but not out of fear!
I would have rather feared you than feel this torment.
I can no longer control the pace of this beating wreak.
I fear that your fears are greater than mine if you feel the way I do.

My heart craves your name and cries to be with you.
Yet my mind chastises my heart for simply feeling this way.
Does yours do that too?

I fear the loss of you as I have lost before.
I fear that you won't understand my heart until it becomes too late.
Mostly I fear that you will never love me the way I do you.
Until then; these fears of mine stay true.
