Faux Humanity Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Faux Humanity

A moonlight tan
I lay on the lawn
keeping Luna company
she tells me of her woes
those who have claimed love
only to be labeled faux
cruelty is humanity
they are one in the same
a never ending circle
of lies and dishonesty
temptation and thoughtlessness
that is man
we are cruel
we are liars
Luna, how do you not fall?
how do you love again?
many have hurt you
many have cursed you
yet you pick yourself up
and return everytime
Luna, oh Luna
I've always loved you
