Father Time And Cricket

In Australia,
a ball that goes under your cricket bat
is a 'grass-cutter',
aka 'gazunder',
which, too, is the name of a chamberpot,
for how it goes under your bed.

So would it pass
to call a 'potty' a 'cutter of grass',
a 'scythe', a 'lawn mower',
a 'scissors', a 'secateurs'?

Could you call a ball going under your bat
those names too,
and, for the sake of rhyme,
call one of those balls,
and a chamber pot, a Father Time?
