Father's Day(1) (A Father's Instinct Saved His Kids From Drowning) Poem by U Win Kyi

Father's Day(1) (A Father's Instinct Saved His Kids From Drowning)

On a hot summer day,
a family went to the sea-side at a bay,
where the 2 kids in shallow water happily played.
Then a sudden ebbing waves washed the kids farther away.
They lost the balance and started to sway.
They screamed in panic, ' help, help, help'
The father heard and to them, he rapidly dashed.
From the deep water, to the shore he pushed the kids back.

Then another big wave pulled him farther deep,
where he was drowned and could not breathe.
Then the life-guards pulled him back to the shore.
It was the dead body which they saw.
He was given CPR......so vigorous.
At last he was pronounced dead, as no reviving result.

Later it was learned that he did not know how to swim.
But he did know how to protect and save his kids from a situation..so grim.

(based on true story) 8th month,8th day ie 88 sounds Papa in chinese so this day is celebrated in Chinese Community as Father Day.
