Fasley Golden Heart; Poem by Alyssa Siebers

Fasley Golden Heart;

Rating: 5.0

I could speak in riddles,
Tell you a lie with a little twist of the truth,
But why make life harder than it really is,
Why push someone on the ground and
not expect them to have dirt on them,
I have a heart inside this body but unlike most, it's still beating.
Beating with happiness, life, love, honesty and life's cruel heartache.
I don't have to lie to get by,
Or smile to show someone I'm not.
I'm Myself, I'm Me!
My feet don't just move simply to hurry up the day,
They move to wonder the lands my head has yet to see,
I can see what you want me to say,
But I can't.
Cause this heart isn't gold,
It's still lost in the way of confusion,
Why the things happen the way they do,
Or why we say what we shouldn't, and yet we still do,
Or Fall in love when we know the heart will ache in the end,
Abuse drugs that are going to twist your stomach in the morning,
My heart isn't golden, but it's still shinning, and while it's still beating,
I'll keep trying,
Trying to improve who I am,
With the notes flying through my ears and out my mouth,
I shall spread the knowledge onto those who need a golden heart too,
Cause we're all just humans trying to make something better out of ourselves.
