Farming Technology Poem by Marilyn Lott

Farming has been around
Ever since time began
The technique has been remarkable
Different methods to work the land

We have come a very long way
From the horse and plows, you know
Changing slowly through the years
Modern pictures sure make it so

They were designed to take a swath
Wide and smooth and clean
From a field that goes for miles
As far as the eye has seen

Don’t you think they’re beautiful?
These modern day tractors and such
Astonishing their sizes are
They have that ‘farming’ touch

But I suppose new technology
Has to grow as time moves on
Because of the enormous population
The horse and plow couldn’t last for long!
