Farewell Poem by Sandra Black

Farewell

You tarry too long my friend
Too long have you mused over my fate
Biding you time, watching my state
Hanging over my head
Is a Damocles sword

I cannot now tarry here no more
I escape soon
And you will know
There was true love
I had to bestow

Too long have you taken alas
My love for you seems second class
I shall not wait anymore
For you seem troubled forevermore
No mean love this is

If denied more your lovers kiss
I shall not be to make you feel amiss
Leave I now somyou are set free
You don't have to decide instantly
I shall step away and let you be

Enjoy your stardom
Enjoy your pride
You are the man
Take it in your stride
Not everyone can hope to be your bride

Farewell my friend
I have waited too long
You are but in search
Of another song
Alas for me this was epiphany
