False Alarm Poem by Sandra Black

False Alarm

He is a mystery
He is an enigma
I barely know him anymore

A day of sugar and spice
And then it's all goodbyes
was it then all lies?

I need you more and more
But you shudder
And flee to the door

I have given up my everything
made you that special something
But you never give up disappearing

I should have known from the start
These games that you play with my heart
Are only going to rend it apart
