Farewell Poem by Jonzo Bandwagoner

Farewell

Rating: 4.5

Years ago we played together,
Two cousins with life and smiles.
Roller coasters, we were six,
And the world was ours to explore.

The secret places; we'd laugh together,
Time's embrace was foreign and gray.
Poems we'd sung, games we'd played,
What an age! Up, up, we went... and away.

Beaches, sandshores, seawaves, hotdogs,
Boardwalks, junkfood (oh, I ate too much) ,
Two cousins, two friends whose love was deep,
Though seperated North and South.

But then, Time stepped upon us,
And we have all grown up-
Really growing farther away,
Love we shared not knowingly is now knowingly forgotten.

And now? I think back with
Tears; Tears; you have changed too much
My friend. The life you live, the words you say,
The girls you see, the fake displayed.

Come back! Come back you years and
Scorn the present death; have you forgotten me?
Oh sorrow, tears fall; remember me.
Please spend a minute with me, cousin.

Do you still have time for me?
