Falling Petals Poem by Lydia Thacker

Falling Petals

Rating: 3.0

Sorrow
Silent thoughts
Of you
Of love lost
Love that was never really true
To begin with

Anger
That you let me believe
That you let me fall

Tears
Cried in lonesome
Moments
Crystal droplets
Wet on my pillow
When I awaken

Pain
In my heart
When I see you
And you act
As though
You don't know me
Or that my love means nothing

Darkness
Complete
The vision I have
Behind closed eyes
Save for the image of you

Dreams
Scattered
Like flower petals
Falling from a dogwood
In a cool spring wind
Impossible to catch
Impossible to gather
Impossible to mend
