Falling Apart Poem by Alyssia Pratt

Falling Apart

And if I could fly, I would
But right now my wings are tattered and bent
I can't save me from myself but maybe you'll help
Because who I'm with isn't who I see
Isn't who brings a shimmer into my eyes
And when my heart skips a beat only I know why
When I wander into your eyes I can see where my
hope lies
With every step I make in his arms I can feel
the mistake crawling up my throat, dying to get out
I pout and you see me as my head is full of discrepancies
You ask what's wrong and I disregard afraid that
what's holding me together will tear me apart
In this lifeless shattered heart
