Black Star Poem by Alyssia Pratt

Black Star

I want to be his needle and thread
to patch him up when he's filled with dread
to hold him high above the fire
I see so much more to him than just desire
When I hear your voice it brings me back to a place
full of content where my heart beats as if in a race
Are my thoughts too loud for you? because they're deafening me
yet through the horrid din
I can feel your presence, I can see your light shine from within
Like the moon we'll go through phases
sometimes we'll feel like half of something else
on a side of the universe where nothing but darkness surrounds
But there's always a star that's glistening through
and I'd like to be that star for you
