Fallen Constellations Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Fallen Constellations

My elbow hits the edge of the table
As I stretch towards the clouds
To capture the stars I’ve buried
Somewhere between the moon
And the titanic floating asteroids
Is this how I’m supposed to feel like
Finding out what I’ve hidden
Has finally broken out to fly
Hold me down, my shoes to the ground
Prove your case with a red laser-point
But I can feel the honesty in the dust
Of these fallen constellations
As they sink deeper down with me
