Falcons Talons Poem by Kasey Lee

Falcons Talons

All you herd was a bang,
So loud that it rang
A puff of feathers left behind.
Still it takes time to let it wind.

That is the mark of a bird,
A bird that never shared a word.
A falcon no less,
With talons that don't bless,

Tell your chicks to stay clear,
But some times it's just mear,
And a chick forgets.
And pays its det,

A bang then puff,
Grass scattered with fluff,
A poor one lost,
A poor one lost.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I came up with this story shortly after my father found scattered feathers all over the lawn. So I decided to pay homage to that poor bird, with fluffy yellow feathers. Now to think of it I think it was a finch.
