Fake Love Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Fake Love

Long enough
I cared for her in pain
While she happily mock
My back with another.

What is it I saw
That castspell on hope to stick
When all signals from her quarter
Point to the hopelessness of hope.

What a fool's sleep I had long
When men were at work
Foe better wages than my dream.

Now awake
With the scales off my eyes
I will pay back what I owe
With happy grin on my face
