Faithful Yet Ailing Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Faithful Yet Ailing

To You alone I bend my knee
In Jesus’ mighty name
From chains of doubt You’ve set me free
Of any hint of shame

Still in pain I’m here once more
Warring against distress
Knocking upon my Father’s door
My ailments to assess

Lord, knowing You have the power
Knowing for me You care
Cause my infliction to cower
In answer to my prayer

Grant wisdom; doctors attending
Nurses, graceful concern
Surgeons, life’s facts comprehending
My ailing tide to turn

For Your miracle I thank You
For cleansing me of sin
Your Promised Gift life to pursue
Counselling within

The Healer of my precious soul
Your Holy Ghost with fire
Ever willing to make one whole
Who’ll climb with Jesus higher

You know my soul my aching heart
The depths I’ve willed to go
From You my God I’ll never part
Whatever wind may blow

Heal me great One, or take me home
Your servant’s hand, fold fast
I’ll never leave nor ever roam
From You; my First & Last…..
