Fairytale Thinking Poem by mae beezwax

Fairytale Thinking

I’ve always wanted a fairy tale life
One where when husband and wife
Means an end to all strife
But now I know
It’s not meant to be so
Life is too joyous too breathtaking
There has to be something
To balance the plate or
The good will go sour

I’ve always wanted a knight for me
Someone to see
The world as I do
That’s when I met you
It seemed to be
My key to be free
But now I have a grasp on reality
And know that no matter how much you wish
There’s still strife on your dish
