Failings Poem by Robert R. Railey

Failings

Failings

Grand thinking almost always accompanied my vain attempts
To put my life in order; but never was I even once prepared for
The stark realization that I might ever fail
So be it the arrogance of youth, or just simply the worst case of
Egotism there ever was, my well-thought plans and seemed
Destined to succeed
Until, that is, when several devastating episodes in my life brought
Me to my knees; and it was then that I learned how to pray
