Fading Embers Poem by Broken Nd Alone

Fading Embers

When I leave…
Do you think you will miss who I am?
Who I was?
Do you really think you'll grieve?

Silent, cold, and stiff
I'll lay in the embrace of an eternal sleep

Crucify me to a mirror, and tell me what you see
I can assure you that the filth that stares back is me.

Don't cry for me,
Don't pity me,
I'm just a tool in this world
what value is that to me?

These tears, they mean so little
My lover, he's gone into the fading embers
And while we're in love
We'll bleed each other dry
These scars, they mean so little
When I'm gone, I hope no one remembers
The girl who died with a stolen heart
and her innocence torn apart.

When I choose the ending for my life story
I beg you to trust in me
Trust that this is what I truly want to do
Trust that I'm doing this for you.

Give me a chance to prove to you
that I can make my own choices
and this time I choose a darkness
that is so inviting, so accepting
Just have a couple roses
To throw on my grave
and then the following day you'll move on
because I will just be…
'Another young girl no-one could save.'
