Face Poem by Mohammed Bennis

Face

This face works to send its rites to sleep
it smoothes out the laughter
it relaxes the lines
it mends the fissures of the soul
Face that tears from me
my one thing
a silence capable of eating
the flowing of the cold
Smoke brings me weather' s pure clemency
then it melts away
