Eyes That Cry Poem by Alim Lamont

Eyes That Cry

They saw a picture of perfection but they couldn't see the cracks
They saw the smile to which they smiled back
So tall, beautiful, pleasing to see
They saw the smile but they couldn't see me
Millions of faces faced this face and saw a grin
So jovial and happy but they couldn't see within
One look from him and he could see their soul
Molded and shapen from its taken tole
It's truth was right there, right behind the eyes
But why do they just trust the smile, why oh why!
See, the smile just lies, it's the eyes that cry
