Why is it that we can't look into the eyes?

The eyes let us get a look into a persons' soul.

If you look hard enough, you can see their fears.

If you look long enough, you can see what they try to hide.

If you look deep enough, you can find out who they really are.

So you turn away.

Because you are scared to know the truth.

Truth scares you,

It does most people.

why?

Perhaps because when the truth comes out,

its simply there.

And people can see right through you.

And when people know you, really know you,

They have the power to hurt you,

Break your heart.

Nothing is scarier than that.
