Exhalation Poem by Amgad Samy

Exhalation

Time passes
Like a jet ski
In the calm water
The air we breathe
Leaves our lungs
As one way ticket flight
Travelling to unknown land
Where nowhere to land
We call it exhalation
It seems to be so simple
When nobody knows in reality
What is hidden deep inside you
The moment you exhale
No one can actually figure out
What kind of suffering do you face?
How much pain do you have?
When we breathe it out
We don't set it free easily
Sometimes with fear
Sometimes with anxiety
We're brave enough
Not to surrender to depression
Preventing it to seize the chance
Life is worth fighting
Even when our exhalation refuses
To make our past injuries fade away
It is deserved to be given a shot
Even when our fate fails us
Forget the unbearable experiences
Just make them vanish
Just let them go
Even if everything around you says no
