Examinee's Prayer Poem by Restytuta Nalyazi

Examinee's Prayer

Our Panga which at in SHACK
Hallowed be thy sharpness
Thy terror-doom reign
Thy will be done on noisemakers
As it is done on cheats
Give us this exam our termly peace talks
Forgive our passing when we copy
As we forgive those who report us
Hide us in the temptation
And deliver us from the D.O.S.
For thine is our fear-doom
The powerless and the grilling
For never and ever

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The demand for grades in my country Uganda has paved a way for parents, students and private school owners aim at acquiring high grades which is an indicator that they are performers. This in a way has opened dubious avenues to hit their targets at any cost. This a parody ridiculing cheating during examinations both at the school and national level. It is absurd that most of the grades are not genuinely authentic and therefore not a good parameter of determining performance.
