Everything Is Exactly The Same Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Everything Is Exactly The Same

I try to see it through your eyes
Maybe now that's not so wise
Only in my dreams I see
A better you, a better me
A world without the pain and tears
Where we can forget our problems and fears
You saved me even if you didn't know
And if that's the case, now I'm telling you so
Everyday I cry, trying to figure out why
Sometimes there is no reason, we just have to say goodbye
I'll never really understand
Just fall asleep and reach out my hand
No matter what they say
One day you'll be with me to stay
Two lost souls on our own
But at least we won't be alone
I'm jealous of you, that may seem crazy
Remember my mind was never clear, always hazy
Warm tears for you, cold whiskey for me
If I forget the world, what'll be will be
Until startled I wake
Realizing my reality was fake
And my only happiness I'll have to make
I sigh as another sip I take
