Everyday
Everyday was dark and gloomy,
Nothing made my life worth living.
But that all changed when you showed up.
You made my life sunny and shiny,
You made me think twice before I did anything stupid.
You know everything about me,
From my first breath in life,
To the scars on my wrist.
I know you will always keep me safe.
I know you will never let me fade.
I show you the best of me everyday.
And you don't judge me.
You undersatnd me,
And thats why I love you.
Hi Jameaka - Honoured to be the first to comment on this evocative poem. (Lines 1-2) Life can be gloomy when we feel alone - but then (Lines 3-5) someone comes into our life that changes everything - life becomes sunny - and we start to think about the consequences of our actions. (Lines 6-8) It's amazing that the fact that our 'New Friend' knows all about us is a positive factor - rather than a negative one. It is because they know our pain and our problems - that they can really help. (Lines 9-10) We know they will keep us safe and prevent us from fading away - AWESOME.(Lines 11-14) When we have someone in our lives - who understands us - does not judge us (despite knowing all about us) We do our BEST and repay their affection with TRUE LOVE.
