Euphoric Summer Poem by Gerry Legister

Euphoric Summer

My beautiful euphoric summer,
Ended with warm sunshine.
The season moved drowsily over.
The best time for a lesser clime.

Maybe you too saw the sign?
Leaving the calm golden lights.
Of summer infectious sunshine.
With the silver sparkling nights.

Seabreeze from the salty waves
Ultimate style, rip curls innovate.
The white powder surfing glaze,
Enhancing minds for a future state.

Age rejuvenates the complex fate.
Quelling the mighty virus invading.
Kill and eliminate may be inaccurate.
Tapping into our immune system.

A force growing through my body.
Anticipate with happiness throbbing.
The addiction brings morbid anxiety,
of the warm euphoria transforming.

An era drawing towards the end.
Striving to find our lost friends.
In a floating dream around them
where disconnect reality pretends.
