Eternal Smile Poem by Ryan Holmes

Eternal Smile

A massacre within my mind
This wound leaves me no time to bide
The blood, it flows like crimson tears
As I am slain, I see you leer

A coward warrior I was
But now I am naught but worm bait
To live no more, death binds us all
Another casualty of fate

The crows, they fight over my bones
For once, I'm finally desired
Yet in death I am still alone
And I'm still utterly despised

A ghost now wanders in my place
With beat-less heart, and sallow face
I stare now with these hollow eyes
With skeleton's eternal smile
