Escaping Bad Family Memories Poem by Terence George Craddock

Escaping Bad Family Memories

reason
emotion
are continental mountain
ranges
apart;

the reason
reaction
is almost
always
better;

when action
is needed
action talks
life is an onion
skin complicated;

surface is rough
peeling through
layers of an onion
skin we realize
an onion is all layers;

life is like that
layer upon layer
experiencing life layer
upon layer of lives
folds back into onion;

we live in an onion
penetrating layers
may bring tears
to eyes life stings
when life gets nasty;

dive off deep end
into family lives
who has started
addressing starting
to escape shadow;

of a few
of our family
issues those
we know
first hand;

what have we
walked through
I doubt mind scarred
child wants to visit
or dwell in memories;

when escape
is a better
more peaceful life
we know where
we should place;

thoughts
memories
to enjoy
happiness
life now,
