Escape From This... Poem by GRANT FRASER

Escape From This...

I wonder if the smell
will find me,
furthest away
If I can help it...

that reality will
somehow reach
out and grab me,

life has become
a tale and a tail,
for chasing,

the empty stretches
of possible nothingness,

that are filled
daily with an empire
of bullshit,

No I wonder
if the taste will
burn my mouth out,

at least teach me
that there is little
left worth hoping for,

and maybe that's more
of a reason to die,
with eyes torn open,

with little but the sucking
dimensions of worth,
tampering with your head,

yes here what's on offer/...
and we'll say who and why?
and close the coffin lid...

And when the smoke of ash
blows up around me,
throw me to the wind,
for this one and only escape...
