Eoin Poem by Francis Duggan

Eoin

The lust for wander is a thing that grow
And Eoin left Skerries six decades ago
And he is one who has travelled far and wide
And there's not much in life he has not tried.

He left old Skerries for a bigger town
But for every up in life there is a down
And life it would seem is not always fair
And Eoin too had his crosses for to bear.

In life there are the high points and the low
And from life there is so much to learn and know
And on the roads of life we learn every day
And Eoin has learnt a lot along the way.

Sixty years have passed in time a lengthy span
Since he left where he grew into a man
Yet with the advancement of technology Eoin has kept pace
And in this modern World he doesn't feel out of place.

The boy from Skerries his dreams did pursue
And to his advantage used his high I.Q.
And Eoin the one who came up the hard way
In life one might say has done quite okay.
