Endless Ecstasy Ii (Are We Ever Free?) Poem by June FeirCruz

Endless Ecstasy Ii (Are We Ever Free?)

Rating: 5.0

My body is in pain
My soul is lost
My heart is confused
Where do I belong?

Must I wander this earth?
Never knowing where to go
Will I ever belong to someone?
Will I ever belong to you?

I have left you marks
Indelible marks
The kind that won't go away for days
You felt that I have staked an unwanted claim
' I won't stand for it ', you say
Because you just want to be free!
No restrictions, no accounting to anyone, not even to me
But are we ever free?

Not a comfortable read, how could it be when it deals with such raw emotions. But it is one that holds the reader and leaves us in a state of tension, expressive of the tension of the would-be lover. Nicely done thank you June.
