En Guarde Poem by Catherine Casey

En Guarde

En guarde missuer.
I was on this island first!
Your balestra's too fancy
Save your fortes for short burst.

Touché amis
Try the turtle soup. It's great!
Just before you leave this piste-
Did your boat have any freight?

I re-volt at your appel.
Was it worth a sell?
A feint is worth a fiéche
Where the not so learned dwell.

Fencing missuer.
Finest gentleman's retort.
Your feet are on an island
Not a holiday resort.

Ex gratia.
Take extended leave to stay.
I plead a mea culpa
We could practice every day.
