Emma's Card Poem by John Carter Brown

Emma's Card

Dear Emma, I've been feeling bad
about that birthday you've just had:
I didn't send you any card
and hope you didn't take it hard:

The truth is that I just forgot
but I still think of you a lot;
you are a special little soul
and fun to be with... Rock 'n' Roll!

So please accept this little pome
from me to you - right to your home,
and next year I will do much better,
then you won't need another letter.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My Granddaughter's birthday is in February and I missed it that year. The poem/letter is a kind of plea for forgiveness.
