Emigrants/Immigrants Poem by Robert Sheridan

Emigrants/Immigrants

The destitute/NY arrival their ruin
Without subsistence/No resurrection
Deprived of/Elementary emotions
Abandoned hope/Tormented souls
Dark shadows/Lightless alleys
Utterly lacking/No brethren
Statuere form/Thoughtless spectators
Thematic vowels/No 'u' in anything
Great expectations/More prayer
Huddled masses/Drop the ball on the one yard line
A resignation/Turned faces to a wailing wall
Vanquished dreams/Go back from whence you came.
