POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The inauguration of a profound and outstanding
leader: 4th August,2010:

A profound and outstanding newly elected leader,
bowed to his nation in one accord with solemnity.
Seizing and capturing his moment with humility,
Endowing himself as his nation's elected father.

He stood abreast in saluting his nation,
President elect, he has only one motion.
To serve his people with unity in humility,
that is one of his manifestation to dignity.

He stood abreast while echoing to his nation,
'we will eliminate stagnation and corruption'.
That pervades our country without satisfaction,
we would prevail to the end as an integral nation.

He stood abreast in the audience of his nation,
holding his breath firmly as he commissioned.
Taking and holding hands with sublime unity,
reaching out embracing everyone in victory.

Victory came, at the time of economical needs,
as mostly wanted in the norms of fruitful seeds.
He has now planted such seeds to grow success,
which he has so cared for in forms to progress.

His name is Desi Bouterse, of Republic Suriname,
a leader, who will serve his people to prosperity.
leading his nation in one direction of solemnity,
that will bring sovereign inheritance to their name.

He echoed to his nation in the atmosphere of sincerity,
that 'we will build our country and eliminate poverty.
We will stand loyal together as a nation of our country',
saying to the world 'we are a nation without contrary'.

'We are here to be for the world to see that we are one,
in one united voice we would sound and play our organ.
Dancing in the rhythm of our music with much laughter,
which the sun, stars and moon would be much brighter'.

As the norms of our destiny stands firmly in our hands,
we as one united nation will grasp to gesture our motion.
Without hesitation we will uphold such in consolidation,
as we would endure peace and freedom in our own land.

With solitude to humanity and harmony to all nations,
we will embrace our neighbours without hesitations.
We will stand abreast in unity with much love to care,
as we will enriched ourselves in all formation to share.

Our unity at home and abroad would be like a solid block,
that will not shift in the sand but standing firm as a rock.
We would entail such recognition and reputation as a flock,
grazing in our green fertile pastures with nourishing stocks.

Our country will be prosperous and integral for others to see,
as a leading nation on this continent with dignity ought to be.
We must be proud of ourselves, as individuals and in general,
that we can lift our hands and heads, walking upright after all.

We are a democratic state uniting and embracing each others,
with cherish able love and adoration to as sisters and brothers.
Our country is our home as a family to which we must cherish,
sickness and in health, darkness and in light we must not perish.

Democracy is a fruitful seed planted in fertile soil that will heed,
to harvest from its tree that bears fruitful fruits and for us to feed.
Our young nation has one motion for rehabilitation with opinion,
your voices are my voice and my voice is your voices in union.

Together, we must sow, plant and reap on this God's gifted land,
together, we must construct and build this land with our hands.
Together, we must dwell in this country as our houses and homes,
together, we must stride to strive as one independent nation.

I am now reaching out to each one of you with both my hands,
not as an adversary of the past but as a leader with unity bounds.
Our yesterday past is not our today's future, tomorrow will tell,
as one nation, with one motto 'Justitia, Pietas and Fides' to sell.
