Elegy On A Car Crash Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Elegy On A Car Crash

Blood, screaming, the Police
could not withdraw the bodies
from the car.

So acetylene came in
and the like.

no melodrama, no acting, sir;
after all
the elegy is propense
to be post-factum
post eventum.

at last the bodies dislodged
two partners in flower
of youth...so to say...
and then
a small child....

screaming, no acting, faces
ashen round
for
Blood, screaming, the Police
could not withdraw the bodies
from the car.
