Elections Poem by Tony Adah

Elections

Rating: 5.0

I can see
A queue of frightened voters
Waiting to get command
On the ballot
There is a legion
Of soldiers at the polling units
But the voters are few
Their call to duty-
A negation of democracy.
It is long
Since the events
In this sphere
Have gone awry
And the architects
Are still busy
Sketching the dome
Of our doom.
