Eg: A Small Ask

Once
a keg was a small cask.
Was then
a small task a teg;
a short bask in the sun
a beg?
Was it a big worm
that was an ascarid;
was a little one called eg?
Was extreme self-exaltation
askotism?
Was minor askesis egesis?
If you've never heard of a hask,
you've never heard of a heg.
Was an ask
a question with ramifications,
an eg a rhetorical one?
Was very awry askew
and not very
egew?
